Accustomed to renting my…

Accustomed to renting my skis, I finally decided to buy mine. I have absolutely no regrets, they are excellent for the edges of the track and the track. We go everywhere. I deducted points for maneuverability because they are not freestyle skis either, but for what they are designed, it is exactly the behavior that is expected of them. We remain manageable in fresh snow and the edges of slopes with unprepared snow.

Very good skiing

I am delighted to have discovered the rookie 90. Very good value for money. The skis are easy to handle, adapt well to different types of snow. To see in time...

Very good in HP! Small weakness on hard snow.

Versatile skiing! Very good and pleasant off-piste, good on-piste when the snow is fresh. On the other hand, lacks a little reactivity on hard snow.

Super easy ski for beginners

Very good condition. Not enough snow but good snow. Very easy ski but limited in duration.

Top !

I loved the skis. A real pass through just as well on the slopes as in the powder… I do not recommend for the slopestyle

Between the slash and the patrol without much interest

The ski is in between with the slash and the patrol but therefore loses its interest in my opinion, it is not as playful as the slash and does not give as much sensation as the patrol despite the fact that it is more accessible.

Pleasant on piste and in powder

Excellent grip. Flexible and elegant ski, with good hold. Very pleasant with new feelings of freedom. I could have ridden to the end of the world with it ;)

Pass everywhere intermediate

Pleasant and easy to ski. Very versatile model. However, it lacks a little support on big curves.

Nice in All mountain

Very cool as a ski, as much in traffic as on the track for fun

a bit heavy

Too heavy despite good handling and good grip

Ski goes everywhere

Ski passes everywhere by its lightness and its versatility. Very maneuverable in all types of snow.

Great off piste, average on piste

Not super maneuverable on hard snow. On the other hand, very comfortable off-piste and a real pleasure

First test

It was my first off-road outing so no comparison to give.

Good behavior on the track

Track test. Very stable, absorbs the irregularities of the ground well. Very good for carving.

What are ski sidecuts?

The sidecuts corresponds to the width of the nose (front of the ski), the waist (middle of the ski) and the heel (back of the ski). The wider the tip, the easier the turn entry. The narrower the waist, the stronger the grip in hard snow. Profile : Rocker/Camber/Rocker, directional shape. In 162cm 129/89/113mm, radius: 16m170cm: 127/88/111mm, radius: 17m178cm: 124/88/109mm, radius: 18m

Description

The 90 mm width under foot gives good stability and comfort when snow changes. Its shape with a small camber under foot and its front and back rockers allow you to pivot easily for better handling whatever the snow quality. A perfect ski for your first outings on powder snow in 15 to 20 cm of fresh snow.

Which skier are you?

If you have an intermediate level on groomed slopes, but you dream of powder snow, the Rookie is the ski that will let you dare to take your first step! Designed for beginner freeriders looking for a comfortable ski on piste and an easy ski off-piste. Reassuring, easy to handle and forgiving, it will help you discover off-piste on the edges of groomed slopes with the markers in sight, and then slowly going further afield.

Choice guide

If you are a Freeriding beginner, the Rookie will be your ideal ski.If you already enjoy off-piste skiing, your choice will be between the Patrol and the Slash. The Patrol for those who love serious skis that grip and are versatile. The Slash will be for those who prefer super playful skis. In 162cm, ski alone: 1,570 g, ski + binding pack: 2,655 g In 170 cm, ski only: 1,720 g, ski + binding pack: 2805 g In 178 cm, ski only: 1870g, ski + Binding pack: 2,955 g

Durability

Black sole for easier repairs.Semi-cap topsheet to avoid use of scales.Metal reinforcement on the heel.

What is a camber?

When placing a ski on the ground, its points of contact are found near the nose and tail, whereas the middle of the ski (under the bindings) is slightly raised (this is the camber). The longer and higher the camber, the greater the edge grip and more responsive the ski. The lower the camber, the more forgiving the ski and the better the handling.

Product testing

All Wedze products are conceived, designed and developed in the Mont Blanc Valley. They are then tested under the same conditions as you would find in real-life use (snow, cold, powder snow, etc.) The design teams ensure that the programme for which the product has been designed and developed matches perfectly with its use in the field.

Storage instructions

Leave a coat of wax under your skis at the end of the season to protect your sole from dust and your edges from damp.
