Product Customer Reviews

Had these over a year. I wear them all the time and they are still in great condition. I live in the wet Pennines and they have never leaked despite going through bogs and moorland. I have very slippery cobbles outside my house and they have excellent grip - almost as good as my Docs and infinitely less slippy than regular walking boots. They are incredibly comfy and light, and also warm. My only slight quibble is that the laces are a bit thin. I love them so much, I came to buy some more, even thought there is a lot of wear left - very disappoiinted to see they are sold out.. Please please please don't discontinue production!
Brilliant shoe. Great in all conditions.
The toe box is narrower than expected. The grip of the sole is awful, slightly wet and muddy underfoot means your slipping. And most recently the stitching is coming undone inside at the back of the heel causing it to rub my foot and be uncomfortable. I only got these 2 months ago so I'm sorely disappointed.
Beautiful waterproof boots, although uncomfortable because they are too tight around the bridge of my feet. Couldn't use them much.
The most waterproof show I've ever owned a little on the snug size despite going half a size up. Unfortunately rubbish for walking in the countryside when it's wet as they do not grip at all so you just slip everywhere.
Nice light weight shoe, but not the most comfortable. I'm a UK size 7.5 or 8 so purchased a size 42, but they are too small. Also there is not much arch support.
I've never had any issues with Quechua products, but unfortunately, the boots are way too tight and I am not a wide fit usually. I couldn't walk a mile without having to stop to completely loose my laces so it wouldn't hurt so much. I love the ECO-concept, but as I've seen in other reviews, perhaps there is a serious problem with the design.
Very comfortable boots, quite lightweight which helps going through muddy places!. Sizing is very accurate. I love walking in these.
These are fabulously comfortable boots but, 350km’ish in they are not watertight at all and the last two walks across wet fields have ended up with me starting to get wet feet a km in and by the time I’m home squelching. So disappointed and not sure I would recommend if you want to keep your feet dry
Nice outlook and design, the size is perfectly fit. Exactly what I looking for.
These boots are excellent. I love how comfortable they feel and how they mitigate the bumps on certain grounds. The laces are a bit too thin for my liking, and I do not think they fit the quality of these boots, but they are easily replaceable and it does not grant withdrawing a star because of it. Another thing I love a lot about these boots is that on each ankle at the top there are two loops (NOT HOOKS) to secure the boots to your ankles. I love the design too.
Really comfy, light but feel sturdy. Have been waterproof so far walking in wet fields. Hope this continues in the winter. Not too keen on thin laces but that is personal preference and easily remedied. Good value, so far so good.
great pair of shoes for hiking and very comfy

Bought this because I really liked the design, but too bad not enough toe space for my wide legs, therefore making my feet hurt so bad after one day of wearing them! Definitely not recommending for anyone with wide feet, might have better luck looking at the men’s section.

Crosscontact sole
Sole design that has been the subject of extensive research in our laboratories, combined with a specific rubber formulation to optimize grip and traction. As the need are not the same, we systematically seek the best compromise for walking on soft paths (forest trail type) and stone paths (coastal path type).
Designed for use on country trails
Our hiking boots are designed for use on country trails. Indeed, we choose and test the components of the sole and the upper of our boots to adapt effectively to hiking on soft trails (forest or earth paths) or stone trails (rocky coastal footpath). Use on roads (tarmac) can lead to the premature wear of your boots and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for hiking in the mountains.
How to choose the right size of hiking boot?
We recommend you try 2 boots, standing, with walking socks. Try several models in several sizes if needed. Check the following 2 areas of comfort: the heel and the front of the foot when going downhill. There should be no compression points when fitting. We recommend you wear your boots in gradually during your first hikes to break them in.
Laboratory test
Laboratory tests are also conducted to validate the following : tearing of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, resistance to UV rays, abrasion of the sole and upper components, accelerated aging. We use these tests to improve the quality of our products and prevent the premature wear of our hiking boots.
Limiting our environmental impact
For these boots, we have chosen more environmentally friendly components: - Upper (front of the shoe, flap and top of the shoe): 52% recycled polyester and 48% dope-dyed polyamide (dye that uses less water) - tongue and collar lining: 100% recycled polyester - 100% recycled PES laces and eyelets -insole: 85% recycled Polyurethane foam and 100% polyester lining - outer sole: 30% recycled rubber
The boot/sock combination plays a key role.
Blisters have many causes during walks: rubbing, a fold in the socks, damp, shoes that are a size too small or too big... We therefore recommend you choose the correct shoe size and the sock fabric that is adapted to your walking shoes.
How to choose the right size of hiking boot
The size of socks chosen must fit the foot to avoid any additional creases in the sock: either because the sock is too big resulting in too much material around your foot, or because the sock is too small resulting in additional fabric being pulled inside the boot.
How to choose the material of your hiking socks
You need to manage damp as best you can when walking: you will sweat, it is often inevitable. If your shoe is breathable, it will wick away the damp from your perspiration: you need to choose light and breathable socks also If your shoe is waterproof, to protect yourself from the dampness of rain and you will not make the same choice: you should prefer socks that will absorb your perspiration and then wick it away from your foot.
Which socks are adapted to the nh500 mid boot?
These boots offer some breathability but not enough to wick away all the moisture of your perspiration. Wear the NH500 high socks: they contain cotton, which absorbs moisture, and have a terry construction under the sock that draws moisture away from your foot. And they’re high enough to protect your ankle from the boot. It is an excellent combination to limit the appearance of blisters.
